Real Estate Open House Giveaways: Buy for Households, Not Just Headcount

EV-PROMO

Two adults arriving together do not necessarily need two bags containing the same property brochures.

That small distinction can change an open house order. Before choosing products, separate items shared by a household from items used by an individual visitor.

Count the things people actually need

Choose the items that fit your event; this is not a checklist of products every visitor should receive.

ItemQuantity basis to consider
Property information packHousehold or visiting group
Brochure bagGroup receiving several documents
PenIndividual visitor who needs one
NotebookSelected visitors comparing several properties
KeychainSelected visitors or completed key handovers
Magnetic clip or coaster setHousehold receiving a take-home gift
Desk calendar or letter openerSelected follow-up recipients
UmbrellaPlanned recipients or a separate loan stock
Handover gift setCompleted household handovers

Separate households from individuals. Shared literature packs and individual writing items need different quantity calculations.

Use registration or attendance information where available. Do not apply a fixed percentage to convert visitors into households.

If the count is uncertain, keep the reserve visible as a separate decision rather than hiding it inside the main allocation.

Give a bag a carrying job

At a single-property viewing, a card and brochure may be enough. A bag becomes more useful at a showcase where visitors collect several documents.

Try the actual literature in the sample. Check the opening, handles and filled shape. An oversized bag adds volume without necessarily helping the visitor.

A notebook may suit a longer property comparison event, but it is less useful when people are making a quick visit and have nowhere convenient to write.

Choose real estate giveaways for the right moment

A useful real estate giveaway depends on when you hand it over. An open house visitor, a returning prospect and a buyer collecting their keys may need different things.

Small takeaways for open house visitors

Real estate keychains are a compact option when you want a small branded takeaway alongside the property information. Check the sample’s ring, attachment and available print area before choosing the design.

Magnetic clips offer a different use: holding notes or paperwork on a suitable metal surface. Test the grip with the documents you expect people to use. Keep the agency branding readable, and put changing property details on a separate card.

Coasters can suit a household gift, particularly when you want a coordinated set. Decide whether you are giving one coaster or a complete set per household, as that changes both the quantity and packing plan.

These items can be offered separately from the literature pack. Visitors who only need the brochure should not have to take a full gift bundle.

Products for follow-up and seasonal campaigns

Desk calendars may suit an ongoing agency campaign, but their usefulness depends on the distribution date. Review the calendar period and delivery schedule before ordering dated stock.

Letter openers are another option for recipients who handle paper correspondence. Review the construction and packaging, and choose them for a defined adult audience.

Umbrellas may be useful for outdoor property tours or rainy-day viewings. They need more storage space than small giveaways, so decide whether they will be handed out, loaned during the visit or reserved for selected recipients.

Household gifts for key handover

A key handover can justify a different gift from an open house visit. A leather tray provides a place for keys and other small belongings; confirm the material description, dimensions and branding finish before ordering.

Cutting boards, pizza cutters and bottle openers are options for a kitchen-themed household gift. Choose according to the recipient and budget, and review the product materials, intended use, care instructions and packaging.

For a coordinated handover set, select a few items with a clear connection. Check the assembled sample so the contents fit securely and the presentation works as a complete gift.

Order these gifts against expected handovers rather than total viewing attendance. Keep open house stock and buyer gifts separate so staff know which items to offer at each stage.

Keep the property address off reusable stock

If you want leftover products to serve another viewing, print the stable agency identity on the item. Put the property address, listing details and event date on a replaceable insert.

This is a reuse choice, not an absolute ban on property-specific products. A commemorative campaign may justify a dedicated design; make that decision deliberately.

For a QR code, identify what happens when the listing closes. A destination that becomes unavailable leaves the visitor with a dead end.

Check the logo on the smallest item

A pen has limited space. An agency logo, phone number, web address and slogan may not all remain readable.

Choose the information that matters most and review the final dimensions. Put the fuller contact details on the information card.

Place the handout where it helps

At the entrance, offer products visitors can use during the viewing. At the exit, provide the information they need afterwards.

Brief staff on the allocation per household and the location of reserve stock. If children attend, keep adult promotional products separate from any age-appropriate items specifically selected for them.
